This week, Slaton ISD proudly celebrates School Counselor Appreciation Week (February 2–6, 2026) as we recognize the incredible impact our counselors have on students every single day.

Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), this year’s theme, School Counselors Amplify Student Success, highlights the essential role counselors play in academic planning, college and career readiness, social-emotional support, mental health, and student advocacy.

While many schools choose one special day to show appreciation, the truth is our counselors deserve recognition all week long. Their dedication helps students dream big, stay focused, and overcome challenges along the way.
