HEB UIL Scholarship Application

For the seventh consecutive year, H-E-B will award 15 high school seniors who participate in UIL competitions with a $2,000 scholarship in recognition of their community service and involvement in their communities.

Five students who compete in athletics (including cheer), five students who compete in music, and five more students who compete in academic events will be selected from the pool of applicants from across the state.

H-E-B will award each selected student with a $2,000 scholarship toward their college/university of choice. Recipients will be spotlighted during the 2025 UIL Texas Girls & Boys Basketball State Championships.

Requirements:  You must be a current Texas high school senior graduating in 2025 with a minimum 3.3 GPA, have participated in a UIL competition as a high school student and have been active in community service programs or events.

Applicants must complete the online application form and submit all support documents at the same time. Applications for the 2024-25 school year are now Here's what you will need to apply for 2024-25 consideration.

• Current GPA
• Number of Community Service Hours in the last 12 months
• Community Service Verification Letters to document the number of hours submitted
• A Letter of Recommendation
• A short essay (500 words or less) on the topic: "What does Community mean to you?"

Everything must be submitted at one time. Make sure you have all attachments and the essay question answer ready before beginning your application. 

Bryson McCarty Memorial Scholarship Application

Founded in 2021, the Bryson McCarty Memorial Scholarship. is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports agriculture education in the Lubbock, Lamb, Hale, and Hockley counties. 

Purpose: To identify high school seniors who possess a strong desire to continue academics in an agriculture trade, leadership positions in student organizations, and plan on attending a Trade School.

Reward: Two students selected from the students who apply will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for financial assistance for trade school.

Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:

• Reside in Lubbock, Lamb, Hale, or Hockley county
• A high school senior accepted into an accredited junior college or trade school for the 2024-2025 year and must be going into an agriculture-related field of study.
• Must be a US citizen
• Agriculture-related Trade School
• Financial Need
• Complete an essay question
