Some students might shy away from that question — but Slaton Jr. High’s Benton Lunsford proudly answers, “Yes!”

Benton has been putting in countless hours of hard work in the barn, and that dedication is already paying off. He kicked off the show season in a big way, earning Breed Champion Berkshire this past weekend at the Frenship Fall Classic!

Raising and showing livestock teaches students far more than just animal care — it builds responsibility, resilience, and a strong work ethic. Benton’s success is a reflection of his commitment to excellence and the valuable life lessons learned through agricultural education.
