Day of Service Projects Begin to Take Shape
Get Ready for SJH Day of Service: Help Us Collect Non-Perishable Food for Santa Red and Blue!
At Slaton Jr. High, we’re gearing up for our annual Day of Service, and this year, we’ve got a great community project lined up to support the Santa Red and Blue food drive. Over the next couple of days, students will be out and about in the neighborhood helping to collect non-perishable food items for families in need this holiday season.
Here’s how you can help:
-
Look for a Grocery Bag on Your Door: Starting soon, you might notice a grocery bag on the door of your house. This bag is meant for you to fill with any non-perishable food items you’d like to donate. (Think canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, or anything else that has a long shelf life.)
-
Fill It and Return It: Once you’ve gathered your donations, please place the bag back on your porch by noon on Friday, November 22. Our students will come by to collect the donations and get them ready for the Santa Red and Blue event.
-
What Happens Next: After the collection, students will sort the food, making sure it gets to the families who need it most during the holidays. It’s all part of our Day of Service, where we aim to give back to the community and spread a little holiday cheer!
