Slaton ISD Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule and Important STAAR Testing Information

As we approach the holiday season, we want to remind families about key dates and events in the upcoming weeks.

Thanksgiving Break
Slaton ISD will be closed from Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. This is a wonderful time for students, staff, and families to take a well-deserved break and enjoy the festivities.

STAAR Blitz Day – Monday, December 2
We also want to remind all students and parents that Monday, December 2 is a STAAR Blitz Day. On this day, students will be given additional support and resources to prepare for upcoming STAAR retesting.

You should receive specific information from your student's campus regarding their participation and any relevant details for that day.

STAAR Retesting Dates
For students who need to take the STAAR retests, here are the important testing dates to remember:

• Tuesday, December 3: English I
• Wednesday, December 4: Algebra I and U.S. History
• Thursday, December 5: English II and Biology

It’s critical that students are present for these tests, as they play an important role in their academic progress and graduation requirements.

A Reminder to Parents
Parents, please make every effort to ensure your student is in attendance on these days. Retesting can be a stressful time, but regular attendance and preparation are key to helping students succeed.
