At Slaton ISD, we are continuously striving to support our students' growth, and we’re excited to share a success story that’s helping many of them achieve significant reading progress. Through the use of MindPlay, a research-backed, computer-based reading program, our students have shown impressive growth—ranging from 1 to 3 years in just a short time. And the best part? They’re achieving this growth with only 20 minutes of practice per day.

What is MindPlay?

MindPlay is an adaptive and individualized program grounded in over 40 years of rigorous research. This program is designed to meet students where they are, regardless of their age or background. It addresses specific learning needs and supports students in mastering fundamental reading skills.

Using MindPlay, students can experience measurable progress quickly, making it an ideal tool for all learners, from elementary to high school. A Proven Impact: 1 to 3 Years of Growth

On both our CTE and Junior High campuses, students have shown remarkable improvements in their reading abilities—gaining up to 3 years’ worth of growth in a very short period. These gains are a testament to the program’s ability to personalize the learning experience, drilling down into areas where students need support and offering tailored lessons that build mastery.
