A Great Day to Be a “Voting” Tiger!
Today was an exciting day at Slaton High School, as students from Mrs. Rigney’s government class took part in a hands-on lesson about civic engagement—by voting! Mrs. Rigney, a dedicated educator and model of good citizenship, has gone above and beyond in preparing her students to be active, informed participants in their communities.
This experience was more than just an assignment; it was a chance for students to understand the importance of their voices in shaping their world. Mrs. Rigney’s encouragement extends beyond the classroom as she builds relationships, encourages active participation, and fosters lasting memories. Her approach isn’t just about teaching; it’s about creating future leaders who value their role in our democracy.
Seeing our students engaged in voting is a proud moment for all of us at SHS. It’s a powerful reminder that learning extends far beyond textbooks—it’s about preparing for life.
Today, our Tigers took a step toward becoming the citizens and leaders of tomorrow. It’s truly a great day to be a “Voting” Tiger! 🐯
